OOOH...I'm a bad clown...I haven't been keeping up our site!  Well, change is always possible with the Lord's help!!!  I will try to do better.  Since I last blogged, we have had some great experiences at the United Brethren Church in Monroe, IN & at the Community Church of God in Ohio City, OH.  We have switched gears a little with our Biblical teachings by getting the kids to write a book!  How this works...We brainstorm with the group to get ideas regarding a particular lesson.  With a little guidance, they come up with some good situations.  For example, we did one about the Fruits Of The Spirit where they went to a birthday party.  We came up with several ways to include all of the fruits.  Then the kids illustrated the scenes, and I put together a book with a few added creative words that they actually wrote.  With the hands-on experience and their involvement, I found this to be a great way to teach.  They enjoy it, and they get a book for their church that they can share.  It also encourages creativity and the use of imagination, ant that's what we are all about.

Old Merci has not been keeping up with the calendar.  Shame on him!  The troupe has done a few things to start the year.  They participated in the Home & Garden Show in Van Wert, put on a show at the United Brethern Church and once again walked in the Peony Parade!  They were also a part of something new that the troupe hopes to do much more of...they went to a couple of schools for Right To Read week.  Childrens' author, Denny Smith, read to classes at Franklin Elementary and St. Mary's elementary, and he guided them with writing their own book.  The kids even illustrated the book.  Merci and Grace funded the project and assembled the book so the children could keep it in their school library.  It was a blessed event.
